Hi Ladies,
I know this community is kind quiet, but I'm in desperate need of help and I'm not sure where to turn. We booked a girl to do my hair and make-up for the wedding. She is asking me for inspiration pictures and I am so clueless as to what I want.

I don't want to look heavily made up but I do want to look special. We are having and evening wedding on the beach in Oregon and our wedding style is very vintage, fresh and natural. I would like my green eyes to really pop. I plan on staying fair (not getting a fake bake) for the wedding though I may get a little more sun kissed when I head home just from being outside. What colors will flatter my coloring (lips, eyes and cheeks)?
Inspiration pictures (both celebrity and bridal) would be really helpful. She wants to see photos. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated though. Thanks ladies!

Hi, I'm new here, having heard mention of this community from the Weddingplans community.
I'm fairly inexperienced with makeup but really want to do my own for my wedding day - I'll just feel better if I can perfect the look I want ahead of time and not have to worry about unexpected hiccups on the day.
I've had a few makeup trials now at different counters and ended up purchasing everything I need from MAC last week. I seem to be struggling with my eyeliner though and thought I'd ask for some help here. I'm using a pencil and am going for a pretty subtle look - just enough to look good in the photos but not a very *made up* kind of look.

Firstly, does anyone have tips as to how to apply a good straight line?
Secondly, what's the deal with smudging it a little afterwards with a brush? I like the way this looked when the MAC lady did it on me but so far my attempts have just looked smeary and not very good at all. What sort of brush should I use for this? I've been using an angled eye makeup brush but I'm not sure if that's right.
Thanks so much in advance - I'd really appreciate advice from those of you who have more makeup experience than I do!
i am a makeup junkie. so, of course i have a million face charts. i went through and decided to post all of the ideas i'm going for. save some of these for your own inspiration.

I'm Playing around with makeup for my wedding in 3 months and I had a couple questions I was hoping you lovely people wouldn't mind weighing in on...
1. What a good brand of non-mineral foundation (I real it reflects badly in photos) that would give me moderate coverage, and I could get at like a Target or drugstore?
and
2. I forget what that powder is called that you use to set makeup when you're done applying, but do any cheaper brands (again, think target) carry such a product? Or am I stuck shelling out for MAC/Sephora makeup?
Dunka!

My wedding is a week away, and I'm still not sure what to do about makeup. I will be doing my own, and I have most of the basics, but I still need suggestions for eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick. The look I want is peachy/golden with pale skin. And all I have access to is drug stores for makeup purchasing (think Walmart, CVS, and Target). Anyone have specific product suggestions or application tips to achieve this?

I've already gotten married, but I think this question may be helpful to others out there. I bought the MAC matte (base), and I realize now that I don't remember how to apply it or how to know what the correct amount is. I applied it with my (freshly washed and dried fingers, and I used about a pea-sized amount over my face, kind of spreading it out from a central dollop. Is there a better way? Is this the 'correct' way? It didn't seem to work with a brush, since it has a thicker consistency than foundation.
So I notice that in some pictures of me, I have a white reflection on my chin line. I've never noticed having especially fuzzy peach fuzz on my chin, but is this what causes that reflection in flash photos?
And if so, are there products to get rid of it easily, OR is there a makeup product to lessen this reflectiveness?
This unedited picture from my hair trial shows what i mean:

Does anyone have any recommendation for great books on makeup application? So far I've read Kevyn Aucoin's and loved them.
Hello everyone!
I'm getting married on August 23rd in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I normally do not wear makeup (haven't really since high school) and I've never really learned how to apply it. However, since I'm long distance planning, it wasn't really practical to find someone to do my makeup, and I figured that I could probably do it myself. Especially since I prefer a "subtle" look.
( I tried! )
